Guernsey Sailing Trust

Our History

A Brief History of the Guernsey Sailing Trust
The Guernsey Sailing Trust was established in 1988 to enable  local children from all walks of life to experience and enjoy the fun and challenges involved with sailing, and to dispel the belief that the sport was elitist.
Over the years the Trust, with constantly improving facilities and resources, has been able to expand the training it provides to cover all aspects of sailing, seamanship and navigation.
During term time the sailing Trust is fully occupied in teaching sailing to all the Islands Secondary and many of its Junior Schools, but throughout the summer holidays various courses are organised and these are open to anyone who would like to learn to sail.
The Guernsey Sailing Trust is a RYA Recognised Training Centre which means that it is required to maintain the safety and teaching standards laid down by the Royal Yachting Association and undergo regular inspections to ensure that we fulfil these conditions.
Included with this brochure is an application form to join the Friends of the Sailing Trust which we hope you will complete and return as this provides us with very valuable funds and enables us to keep the cost of courses as low as possible.
We hope you find a course to suit you and if you require any further information please telephone 710877 or visit our web site www.sailingtrust.org.gg
