Guernsey Sailing Trust
About
The Guernsey Sailing Trust was established in 1988 to enable local children from all walks of life to experience and enjoy the fun and challenges involved with sailing, and to dispel the belief that the sport was elitist.
Over the years the Trust, with constantly improving facilities and resources, has been able to expand the training it provides to cover all aspects of sailing, seamanship and navigation.
The Guernsey Sailing Trust is a Royal Yachting Association Recognised Training Centre, which means that it is required to maintain the safety and teaching standards laid down by the RYA and undergo annual inspections to ensure that we fulfil these conditions.
During term time the Sailing Trust is fully occupied in teaching sailing to all the Islands Secondary and many of its Junior Schools. Throughout the summer holidays various waterbased RYA courses are organised which are open to anyone who would like to learn to sail. These courses are extremely popular and get booked up very early in the year, to avoid disappointment many people have joined the Friends of the Sailing Trust, which enables them to have priority bookings when the courses are first advertised. For further information on how to become a Friend please go to our Friends page.
