Courses
We offer a wide variety of courses to cater for all ages and disciplines. All courses follow the RYA Syllabi for its discipline. Below is a list of the courses available in 2012. Please see the individual course pages for more detailed information.
Oppies
Courses follow the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme. Students should be able to gain various certificates appropriate to the courses.
Sailors from age 7 and upwards.
Picos
We run both Beginners and Improvers courses in Laser Pico dinghies.
Sailors from age 11 upwards.
Doublehanded
Sailing RS Fevas and RS Visions’. These versatile modern designed boats are great for beginners and accomplished sailors alike. Sailors from 12 upwards
Keelboat
This year in order to broaden the scope of our courses we are offering two Keelboat courses
throughout the last week of our Summer courses. Minimum age 14

Other Courses
Powerboat

The Guernsey Sailing Trust is also a recognised powerboat school and run Powerboat
Levels 1 & 2, Intermediate, Advanced and Safetyboat Courses. These courses will generally
be run over the course of a weekend.
Level 1 Minimum age 10 £110 per person
Level 2 Minimum age 14 £195 per person
Intermediate and Safetyboat Minimum Age 16 £195 per person (subject to experience)
Advanced Course Minimum Age 17 £225 per person (VHF/SRC and 1st aid Certificate is required prior to the course)

In addition to RYA Courses we can also run ICC direct assessments which can include the CEVNI (inland waterways) endorsement needed to enter European inland waterways in you own vessel.

Adult Dinghy
0930 – 1630
These are run over a weekend and will be run subject to interest. You will have the chance to get in on the action in any of our Picos, Fevas, Visions or Xenon.
The Beginners course is aimed at the total novice and will cover both Levels 1 and 2 of the National Sailing Scheme. The boats used will be Picos and Visions.
The Improvers course is aimed at those who have completed the beginners course and it will cover Level 3 of the National sailing scheme which is really to hone the skills learnt in Levels 1 and 2 and further your experience.
