RYA Intermediate Powerboat – Day Cruising

Intermediate Powerboat – Day Cruising.

Courses are held over two days. The aim of the course is to teach powerboating up to the standard required to complete a short coastal passage by day. It will cover the competency in driving powerboats as well as the navigational knowledge to then demonstrate the practical use of pilotage and passage planning by day on coastal waters using both traditional and electronic navigational techniques.

• Boat handling, pilotage
• Passage making
• Man overboard

Candidates should be competent to the standard of the Powerboat Level 2 certificate. It is strongly recommended that candidates hold a first aid certificate and VHF/SRC operators licence and have knowledge to the level of Day Skipper theory. The minimum age for this course of 16 years old.
