RYA Safety Boat Course

The Safety Boat Course provides the skills required when acting as an escort craft, safety boat or coach boat for a fleet of dinghies, windsurfers or canoes, or for racing or training activities.  It includes rescue techniques and elements of race management and mark laying.  After this course you should be able to provide safety or support cover to a range of craft, particularly sailing or windsurfing

Minimum requirements for the Safety Boat course are:

Age: 16
Qualification held: PB2
Should have a basic understanding of sailing

Safety Boat Course for 2026 is on in the evenings of Monday 17th, Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th of August. The timings are 17:00 to 21:00. Provisions can be made for late arrivals.
